Access Sciences' mission is to 'Tame Information Chaos'. We achieve this by transforming unstructured data into digital assets that are findable, usable, and valuable for some of the world's largest and most complex state agencies and corporations. Since 1985, Access Sciences has established itself as a leading consulting and business process outsourcing firm. As an employee- and woman-owned business specializing in information governance, technology enablement, and business strategy, we're driven by a dynamic team of experts dedicated to solving our client's unique information management challenges.

Discover how we empower state agencies to enhance constituent engagement through self-service Public Information Requests (PIRs) with our custom-built Electronic Document Management System (EDMS), which manages millions of public records. Our innovative platform also provides leadership with actionable insights that drive policy and operational improvements. This is what we mean by ‘taming information chaos’—making unstructured data digital, findable, usable, and valuable while ensuring public records accessibility for all. The result is less time spent searching and more time spent acting.

"To Pass or Not to Pass User Acceptance Testing (UAT)? That is the Question: How to Deliver a Successful UAT Program for any Records & Information (RIM) System Rollout"
April 17, 2025

OVERVIEW: Whether implementing a new solution or upgrading an existing version of any Records and Information Management (RIM) system, the User Acceptance Testing (UAT) program is essential for success. The program test results determine if the system requirements are met and if the solution is fit for go-live. In addition, user feedback during testing can offer invaluable insight into the solution’s expected go-live performance. Engaging key UAT participants to optimize quality feedback throughout the program will increase buy-in in user confidence and capture valuable feedback.
Preparation for UAT is equally important to conducting the test scenarios itself. This presentation provides key considerations to plan for the most successful test environment to measure results and gain valuable, insightful feedback. The considerations provide focus on the people and technology factors that can impact testing along with a checklist to capture evaluation points that department leaders can take back to their organization.
During the session, participants will walk through a UAT scenario to observe techniques to capture test results, metrics, issues, and both visual and verbal feedback. In addition, participants will learn how to ask leading questions of the test team to capture the desired outcome for any test issue or action.

Following the session facilitation strategies, we will provide steps a team can take to create a prioritized path forward and define what needs fixing now for go-live and what can wait for a subsequent release. Participants will be able to apply the concepts in their organization to design, build, and deliver successful UAT programs.
