"Zero-Click Recordkeeping: Framing the Records Management Journey to 2030 "

OVERVIEW: Zero-click recordkeeping is a conceptual strategy for enabling mission-focused activities to automatically trigger records management actions though the integration of recordkeeping rules with information systems. In theory, this means zero recordkeeping clicks for most agency staff. Zero-click recordkeeping does not happen by magic, however. It will take thousands of clicks for records managers to develop and integrate these recordkeeping rules with business processes.

This presentation provides an overview of the concepts of zero-click recordkeeping and focuses on the composition and nature of the records workforce that government agencies will need to meet the challenges of electronic management through the conclusion of the 2020s.

This session will enable audience members to gain a strategic perspective on records management trends as well as identify strategic framings for articulating the value of records management programs in the era of digital government.

Attendees will also learn about the skills, knowledge domains, and strategic partnerships most records management programs need to meet the challenges of electronic records management.
