OVERVIEW: In this session, co-hosts Unit Manager Drucker (Central Records) and Unit Manager Bansee (Audio Visual Unit) will provide a streamlined overview of managing and delivering digital evidence to ensure timely prosecution.
We’ll explore best practices for sharing digital evidence with our State and Federal Prosecution Offices, including policies and procedures designed to maintain internal compliance on fundamental factors such as filenames, classification, retention, and audit trails—elements unique to digital evidence. The discussion will also highlight the challenges of selecting and configuring vendor platforms that facilitate efficient evidence management.
Attendees will gain valuable insights into establishing workflows, improving interagency communication, and delivering effective staff training—ultimately helping to keep requests within prosecutorial timelines.
By reducing turnaround times and increasing efficiency, these practices will teach members how to help bolster their agencies compliance leading to prosecutorial success while emphasizing the critical role of properly managing digital evidence.
