AC25 | Session 26

"Shoe String and Boot Strap Records Management for Small Places"

OVERVIEW: Records Management and Information management programs have shifted in scope and importance in myriad ways, but very often the small places lag in keeping up with the modernization of these programs. Join a local government records manager as she discusses the ways she has dragged her stakeholders kicking and screaming into the modern era, and the ways that she has failed to gain ground. This session will delve into the 4 stages of RIM/IG Change Management as defined in "Information Governance: Concepts, Strategies, and Best Practices," by Robert Smallwood, and will discuss a 5th change management stage, "reflection," that the presenter believes is the most vital of all. Session presenter leans heavily on storytelling and humor to deliver a cohesive and memorable experience with key takeaways as a throughline.
