OVERVIEW: This Forum session will provide real life examples of how government archivists and records custodians are modernizing the management of long-term and permanent electronic records by integrating digital preservation practices and technology into the records management life cycle.

Attendees will hear about web harvesting and preservation in near-real time (Kate Telford, Rhode Island State Archives), automation of normalization and preservation workflows for large scale County real property records (Preservica), integration of preservation action with content management systems (Tanya Marshall, Vermont State Records and Archives Administration), and creative ways to facilitate citizen search and retrieval in digitized historical collections (Rebekah Davis, Limestone County Archives).
