March 3, 2022

CREDITS: Preapproved for 1 CEU (ARMA International), 1 ARC (ACA), and 1 GARA Study Hour (GARA Certificate Program)

GARA CERTIFICATE CORE COMPETENCY AREA(S): "Records and Information Management Basics" OR "Retention and Disposition" OR "Electronic Records and Information Management"

 DURATION: ~60 Minutes

OVERVIEW: COVID-19 has not only forced organizations to invent new ways of doing business, but these seismic shifts have also resulted in collection of new kinds of data, some of which are highly sensitive biometric data.

This webinar presentation, sponsored by NAGARA Strategic Partner GovQA, will introduce an updated Playbook initially developed in 2020 with input from nine large organizations, representing the financial, food distribution, airline, software, oil and gas, utilities, and accounting sectors. Since then, new record types such as vaccine records have emerged. The webinar will highlight the list of potential pandemic-related records, provide practical guides for their lifecycle management, and discuss emerging best practices for new records ingestion and record controls.

Learning objectives include:

1. Identify types of records arising from pandemic-related activities, from employee biometric information and vaccination records to CARES Act compliance and policies and procedures for re-e-entry, work from home, sanitation, etc.
2. Manage pandemic-related records using information lifecycle principles.
3. Extend uses for the Playbook to managing new records beyond those that have arisen from the pandemic.
