OVERVIEW: This webinar presentation highlighted how the Federal government identify information, specifically in terms of "records" and "data" for knowledge transfer, as well as programmatic purposes. The learning objectives of this presentation included: detailing the basic governance structure for which Federal data and records are to be managed, and to create a baseline understanding amongst information management professionals, bringing forth joint-interests that records managers and data stewards share in meeting statutory requirements, policies, and directives; and sharing records management considerations for preserving data sets.

The hope of the presenter was to create synergy for records and data professionals around cross-cutting touch points, and for them to realize value in leveraging agency-level data governance organizations to promote programmatic objectives. This fun, engaging webinar is highly informative.
