About ICRM
Incorporated in 1975, the Institute of Certified Records Managers (ICRM) is the internationally recognized certifying organization for records and information management professionals. ICRM was established to provide a standard by which professionals in the field could be measured, accredited, and recognized according to criteria of experience and capability established by their peers.
ICRM's primary mission is to certify records and information management professionals through two credentials: the Certified Records Manager (CRM) designation, attained by completing Parts 1 through 6 of the examination, and the Certified Records Analyst (CRA) designation, attained by completing Parts 2 through 4. Both credentials represent a rigorous, peer-established benchmark of expertise and professional commitment in the records and information management field.

Select NAGARA programs have been approved for ICRM Certification Maintenance Points (CMPs), the credit system through which active CRMs and CRAs maintain their credentials over each five-year certification cycle. ICRM will share information about eligible NAGARA offerings through its membership communications, expanding the professional development value of NAGARA programming for credentialed records professionals.
What This Partnership Means
ICRM Marks on Certificates of Completion
ICRM permits the use of its marks on NAGARA Certificates of Completion for approved events, including those under two hours in duration, adding credential-aligned recognition to NAGARA programming for CRMs and CRAs.
Cross-Promotion of Programs and Opportunities
Both organizations will cross-promote relevant announcements, events, and professional development opportunities through their respective communication channels, helping members of each organization discover more ways to learn and connect.
